Trip Notes:
The Needles District.
The Needles District
Canyonlands National Park is the jewel of the Desert Southwest. Riddled with narrow canyons and surreal rock formations, the Needles area is part of a much larger canyon wilderness. We follow 4-wheel-drive jeep trails over Elephant Hill deep into the backcountry. Our trip includes a hike to stately Chesler Park by way of the narrow Joint Trail.
Joint Trail.
Joint Trail

We'll see the confluence of the Green and Colorado rivers and visit numerous archeological sites. Here you'll be immersed in a remote and beautiful part of our planet. It's comforting to know that such places still exist. Each evening brings us to a remote camp where your guides get busy cooking creative, palate-pleasing meals.

You'll sleep under one of the darkest, star-filled skies visible anywhere in the U.S. (Mag 6.8) Bring your binoculars and enjoy some great star gazing.

(You may combine this great 4WD natural history tour with a Cataract Canyon river trip creating one of the best combination trips in the American Southwest and a classic.
