Isla Monserrate is one of the ruggedly beautiful islands in Baja's Sea of Cortez. It's an ideal base for exploring a rich marine environment and an island terrain dotted with cactus and unusual native plants.
NAVTEC's U.S and local guides meet you in the quaint fishing village of Loreto, Baja's oldest town.

You'll stay at a beachfront hotel at the beginning and end of the trip. We travel to Isla Monserrate in NAVTEC's swift rigid hull inflatable boats or RIBs.
Our base camp is at a beautiful bay on the island. That's where our expert guides show you how to kayak safely and enjoyably. The sea kayak is very stable and easy to paddle. You'll soon be slicing across the glassy surface with ease.
We do most of our kayaking in the morning. Afternoons are free for snorkeling, fishing, hiking or just relaxing in camp where your guides prepare delicious dutch oven meals.
 |
| Personal sea kayak time |
We paddle to a sea lion colony and a seabird rookery. Dolphins frequently surface along our route in great pods. You can easily see tropical fish beneath the water as we paddle along the coastline.
NAVTEC's RIBs support all kayaking trips -- which means lighter kayaks, easier paddling and unsurpassed safety. Our RIBs can also be used to explore further afield or fish. |
