Dolores River by Raft Two Day Expedition |
|
| Trip Notes: | |||||||||||||||||||||
We leave Moab at 8:00 am on a shuttle to our put-in near Gateway, Colorado. Hold on as your boatman rows the NAVTEC raft through Stateline rapid, the biggest on our trip. Later we enter beautiful Gateway Canyon with a few mild rapids and a wide variety of landscapes and high desert cliffs. This is a very isolated river section and we rarely see other river runners. Our trip takes us past Beaver and Thompson canyons, home to man Anasazi Indian petroglyphs and remnants of old homesteads. This 32-mile trip ends at Dewey Bridge just past the confluence of the Colorado and Dolores rivers. From here we shuttle back to Moab and the end of our trip. |
